All ingredients are food-quality, natural and beneficial to your skin.  They are free of sulfates, parabens, and triclosan.  I started making soap for my family due to allergies experienced from using commercially manufactured products..  As I saw the wonderful benefits this all-natural soap had for my family, I thought other families might benefit from them too.  Brandywine Soap Garden creates small batches of soap using food grade olive oil, coconut oil, and sustainable palm oil. Most types also include other moisturizing ingredients such as shea butter, mango butter or avocado oil, to name a few. True soaps are the result of a chemical reaction between vegetable or animal fats, water, and lye.  When combined, they transform into soap and glycerin with no lye remaining in the soap.  Glycerin is a natural by-product of the soap-making process.  Glycerin is a humectant, which means that it attracts and retains moisture on your skin.   Most commercial soap manufacturers remove the glycerin from the soap, process it and then sell it to other industries to make different products.  With handcrafted soaps, glycerin remains in the soap, along with its wonderful benefits to the skin.I love both the creativity and chemisty involved in making beautiful soaps that are safe and beneficial.
